2 Nephi 1
A fathers heart weighed down with sorrow, fear
For children and the hardness of their heart
Unwilling to be humble from the start
The Lord’s command through Nephi, would not hear
Upon this chosen land, His promise clear
Blessings from on high He will impart
For those that keep commandments, not depart
From His way, and hold His teachings dear
For those who serve, a land of liberty
And none shall come but brought by God's own hand
Awake, awake, a parents vision see
And with our ancient, covenant fathers stand
From prideful shackles and unbelief be free
Stand by your brother, whose visions have been grand
2 Nephi 2
Thou hast beheld His glory and art saved
Verily, by law no flesh is justified
Redemption through the grace of Him that died
A pathway to God's presence He hath paved
An opposition in all things must be
The good, the bad, the bitter and the sweet
Eve and Adam chose and death did meet
Knowing pain, but knowing joy to see
Men are free according to the flesh
To choose the Son of Man and liberty
Or choose the devil and captivity
This fallen world the testing place to thresh
Our choices come at such a precious price
His life and blood upon the cross suffice
2 Nephi 3
And now I speak to Joseph, my last born
Of a seer, raised up like unto Moses
Who shares thy name just as our father Joseph
With coat of many colours ripped and torn.
And unto him will I give mighty power
To bring My written word unto thy seed
The words of Judah and of Lehi freed
They grow together in our hands this hour
Confounding of false doctrines, it will
And cause the laying down of prideful strife
Establishment of peace, a better life
To know and keep my ancient promise still
Thy seed shall cry unto them from the dust
Remembering my covenant to trust
2 Nephi 4
The grave approaches and Lehi's dying word
Is given to the children of the first
If ye keep not His commands be cursed
But blessed and prospered if His voice is heard
Nephi’s torment as his father dies
Left alone to lead, the burden great
His heart doeth groan because of sin, to break
For doubt and Satan’s arrows, weeping, cries
Nevertheless, I know in whom I trust
My God hath been, and always will, my strength
Hath filled me with His love my journeys length
And heard my cries as tears have wetted dust
Awake my soul no longer droop in sin
The Lord redeemed my soul, tis His to win
2 Nephi 5
Conflict for the right to lead the people
Hatred for a younger brothers call
Plotting for his overthrow and death
Warning from a voice that’s still and small
Departing for a place where they can worship
Observing all the statues of Lord
The plates of brass, directing ball were taken
The sword of Laban, prepare for coming war
A temple built like unto ancient Israel
Industrious, creating Nephite lands
They lived after the manner of happiness
And kept a record, engraven with their hands
The genesis of intertwining nations
Connected by their covenant foundations
2 Nephi 6
The words of Jacob unto those who hear
Reads Isaiah's words with diligence
The building of spiritual defence
Likening the words, dispelling fear
Testifying of the coming Word
Who'll show himself unto Jerusalem
Scourged, crucified, they missed the hidden gem
Hardened hearts against the Holy Lord
I have no shame for those who wait for Me
And find the joy in My gift of repentance
Found covenants from past are kept now hence
Merciful to them who come and see
I am the Lord, the mighty one of Jacob
Your sorrow and your conflict I will take up
2 Nephi 7
Have I put thee away or cast thee off
Yea, to whom have I sold you?
But for your iniquities you’re sold yourself
Your shame in my word, I knew
Wherefore when I came there was no man
When I called, the answer from none
Do you think I've no power to deliver my own
My might, over earth and the sun
I gave my back to the smitter mid scorn
I hid not my face from the shame
The Lord is near, He justifieth me
Stand together in His name
Who is among you that feareth the Lord?
And obeyeth the prophet's voice?
Do you walk in darkness or in the light?
In His light or yours the choice
2 Nephi 8
Hearken all ye followers of righteousness
Look unto your fathers who enlighten us
And unto your good mothers who have born you
The Lord will comfort Zion and renew
The heavens shall vanish and earth waxeth old
But my love and salvation shall ever enfold
Fear ye not the reproach or revilings of men
For like moth on a garment, it breaks down for them
The redeemed of the Lord shall return and rejoice
Sorrow and mourning shall flee from their voice
Behold, I am He that comforteth you
Thou art my people, redeemed anew
Awake, Awake put on thy strength
Put on thy beautiful garments
2 Nephi 9
He speaks unto His people by the prophets
I speak these things that you may rejoice
The great creator condescends to flesh
The infinite Atonement yields choice
He commandeth that all must repent
With faith be baptized in his holy name
The consequence of unrepentant hearts
A damning when you hide you face in shame
A warning to the learned and the wise
Their wisdom turned to foolishness and rot
Unless they hearken to His righteous counsel
And then their sins, with His blood, are bought
Whoso knocketh to him He opens up
His love he he offers, an overflowing cup
2 Nephi 10
Christ shall come among the fallen Jews
With stiffened neck they look beyond the mark
They crucify the Lamb of God with hearts dark
Though miracles performed, to spread good news
Our fathers from this wickedness were led
To a promised land of liberty
Consecrated to Lehi’s faithful seed
If too God's will their searching hearts are wed
Cheer up your hearts and remember still
Ye are free to act and seek His will
It's only through His grace you are saved
Reconciled to God by the path He’s paved
2 Nephi 11
Behold my soul delights
In proving to the people
The truth that Christ shall come
A lowly child, regal
For this end hath the law
From Moses to us given
And all things to from the start
Are typifying of Him
The covenants of the Lord
With Him our fathers made
Delights the grateful soul
His grace a heavenly aid
Three witnesses of Christ
Isaiah, Nephi, Jacob
Testify they've seen Him
His cross they freely take-up
2 Nephi 12
In the top of the mountain will the house of the Lord
Be established and built in the latter days
The nations of earth will hear of His word
Many people will go and learn of His ways
House of Jacob lets walk in the Light of the Lord
In the temple of God learn of peace not of war
The plowshares and pruning hooks are made from the sword
Nation and nation shall battle no more
In the midst of the idols, the silver and gold
The haughty and lofty will be bowed down low
In the clefts of the mountains you're left alone cold
If ye turn from the Saviour, His peace you'll not know
2 Nephi 13
The Lord of Hosts doth take away
From Judah and Jerusalem
The staff of bread, the waters stay
The Word is removed from among them
Against the ancient the child is proud
The honorable mocked by the sinner
Their tongues and their doings declaring out loud
Their countenance dark, no lights glimmer
Because the daughters of Zion are vain
With stiffened necks and wanton eyes
Both stink and scab will be their pain
Baldness and burning will be their prize
Thy mighty men shall fall by the sword
Her gates shall lament and the people shall mourn
2 Nephi 14
The blood and filth shall be washed away from Zion
Thy beautiful daughters in faith will cleave to Christ
Those people left in Jerusalem are holy
Cleansed through the Atonement which sufficed
The Lord will make on every house in Zion
A cloud of smoke by day to stop the heat
And the shining of a flaming fire by night
A refuge from the rain and storms that beat
2 Nephi 15
The vineyard of the Lord, the well beloved
Where men are vines, and the gardener is He
There built a fence and gathered out the stones
Prepared to soil to plant the finest tree
But wild grapes came forth instead of good
Behold He looked for judgement, found oppression
Behold He looked for righteousness, but cries
And now the fruitless yield brings desolation
Wo to those who say that evil's good
Or put for dark the things of real light
Who falsely claim the sweet to be the bitter
For flame consumeth such, His anger bright
But because of love His hand is stretched out still
To all who seek for Him then seek His will
2 Nephi 16
Isaiah's Calling
A man of unclean lips am I
In the midst of unclean words
But Holy, Holy is the Lord
The Lord of Hosts I've heard
The Seraphim, Six wings of power
With a live coal in his hand
From off the alter to my lips
Sin purged out with the brand
The voice of God is heard, He asks
Whom shall I send?
To open eyes, ears and mind
I'm here, send me to tend
2 Nephi 17
Go forth to share the message on the the way
And say: take heed, be quiet and fear not
Though Ephraim and thy neighbour now betray
Their anger, as smokes tendrils, come to naught
O, David, do not weary of thy God
A sign is given a virgin shall conceive
A son is born, Immanuel, now shod
In glory, and the evil He shall leave
As days long past, O Israel, a blessing
United under Christ, a new refreshing
2 Nephi 18
The world and men upon it speed to spoil
And conquer in the strength of their own arm
Declaring genius prospers when we toil
Believing sin and wickedness no harm
Take no counsel from the wisdom of the world
It shall come to naught and never truly stand
Gods with us and His power is unfurled
As you look for Him and trust His able hand
For a little while He hides His face from man
In His hiding, take no offence and stumble not
Do not look for other Gods, another plan
Let the Lord of Hosts be in your thought
If we look beyond, it’s anguish and it's dark
Our God's the light of life, the only mark
2 Nephi 19
The people that in foretimes walked in darkness
Have seen great light, it shineth forth on them
Joy and nations increased and are multiplied
He's broken the yoke and lifted the brutal stem
Sing forth, for unto us a child is born
Shout praise, for unto us a Son is given
The government shall be upon His shoulder
And through His precious blood the world forgiven
His name is Wonderful and Mighty God
The Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace
Upon the throne of David He will reign
His rule and peace forever will increase
From God the Word was sent to covenant nations
With Immanuel, inherit celestial stations
2 Nephi 20
Wo to those who choose their pride
And turn away the needy
Who take away the care for poor
From widows steal; greedy
Where will you turn in your time of need
When art thou bowed down low?
In Assyria, rod of my anger dealt
My indignation a blow
The fire of afflictions purge
The remnant shall return
And cleave unto their Mighty God
His Covenant love will learn
2 Nephi 21
A rod shall come forth from Jesse's stem
Son of David to Jerusalem
Upon Him rests wisdom and might
Knowledge, counsel, respect for right
Quick of understanding He shall be
Fearing God, He’ll clearly see
Clothed in faithful, righteous power
Upon His people peace will shower
The Knowledge of God shall fill the Earth
As the waters cover the sea
Those who come shall know their worth
United, God's children shall be.
2 Nephi 22
Oh Lord I will praise thee, thou comfortest me
Thine anger is turned away
God, my salvation, I’ll trust and not fear
Lord Jehovah is my stay
With joy ye shall draw water forth from the well
His water, ye never shall thirst
And in that day shall ye praise the Lord
Declaring His deeds last to first
Sing unto the Lord, He's done excellent things
This is known in all the earth
From Zion's walls cry out and shout
Of the Holy Ones infinite worth.
2 Nephi 23
I will punish the world for evil
The wicked for their iniquity
Arrogance of proud to cease
I'll shake the heavens and earth
My fierce anger at its worst
Those joined to the wicked
Shall fall by the sword
Their children dashed to pieces
Their houses overthrown
Beasts in desolate houses
Dragons in the palaces
For thus saith the Lord
To my people I'll be merciful
But the wicked will be sorrowful
2 Nephi 24
The Lord will have mercy on Jacob
And will yet choose Israel
And set them in their own lands
Join strangers there to dwell
He'll give thee rest from sorrow
Hell give thee rest from fear
Hell give thee rest from bondage
He'll wipe away thy tear
The wicked's staff is broken
The rulers brought down low
The whole earth is at rest
As God's arm starts to show
His power is revealed
Those great will tremble small
Jehovah the Creator
Reveals His glory to all
2 Nephi 25
My soul delights in plainness to my people
That they may learn of Christ, humble yet regal
I prophecy for I have seen His day
My heart doth magnify His name, proclaim
No other name is given under heaven
Whereby man is saved, the only leven
Work diligently to teach our sons and daughters
Of Jesus from whence comes the living waters
For after all we do, its by His grace
That we are saved, in His powerful embrace
We talk, rejoice we preach and prophecy
We worship with all our heart and mind
My soul delights in the plainness of the Word
My heart rejoices, when listening I've heard
2 Nephi 26
Oh the pain and anguish of my soul for you
My people who rejected prophets news
Swallowed by the earth upon His death
To late to be convinced in final breath
But the Son of Righteousness. He shall appear
To heal you, bring peace while He is near
He walketh not in darkness but in light
He loveth you and layeth down His life
He inviteth all to come and to partake
Of His Salvation, the bands of death to break
Come black and white, come bond and come ye free
Come man and woman, all alike to me
His power bringeth life and light from deep
With sorrow turned to joy, my heart doeth leap
2 Nephi 27
Drunken in the last days with iniquity
Sunken in a deep sleep that you cannot see
Dreaming as a hungry man eats plentifully
Awakening his soul continues empty
Dust from whence comes forth the words, a book
Encrust the sinners eyes, they cannot look
Voice of ancient prophets testify
Rejoice, the meek and poor find Him on High
Wisdom of the worldly wise shall perish
To them, the learned, brought by Mr. Harris
Book, which by the learned cannot be read
My work, revealed through Joseph Smith instead
Witnessed, by the three and millions more
Blessed by the power found in store
2 Nephi 28
In the last days churches built but not to God
Their own learning do they teach, deny His power
Believing not in miracles, they the call them odd
And claim Gods done His work in bygone hour
Eat, drink, be merry they shall teach
Tomorrow we shall die and God shall save
Teach false and foolish doctrines to each
Of us, whose worldly praise, we sometimes crave
The Kingdom of the devil must surely shake
In the hearts of men doth satan rage
Anger ‘gainst the good, foundations quake
The righteous stirred, for our souls battle wage
Wo to them that are at ease in Zion
Wo to them that say we need no more
The Lord gives bit by bit and line by line
When we receive his counsel blessings pour
Cursed is he that puts his trust in man
In mercy ever is My outstretched hand
2 Nephi 29
In that day I will do a marvelous work
Recover my people, remembering their worth
The words of the prophets hiss out of My mouth
Unto your seed and the ends of the earth
A Bible, a bible. Can there be any more?
Know ye not that the nations are more than just one
And I command all men, the east and the west
To write in their books, all that I've done
Two nations, their witness, together unite
In clarity teach of My gospel pure
The Jew and the Gentile shall both be convinced
Of covenant promises revealed and sure
I will gather together my covenant ones
I will show I remember them, every tongue
2 Nephi 30
Who are the covenant people of the Lord?
Those who cleave to Christ with one accord
It matters not if Gentile or a Jew
His chosen ones, choose covenants to renew
The written word will come forth to our seed
A blessing from God's hand for all to read
Scales of darkness falling from their eyes
All the nations of the earth shall rise
He'll reign and usher in an age of peace
The wolf will dwell with lambs and death will cease
The lion with a calf the child lead
Satan is subdued, the Christ we heed
The knowledge of the Lord will fill the earth
Like waters on the sea, a Second birth
2 Nephi 31
The Son of Man, He shows the way
Be baptized as He was
Walk through the gate, upon the path
Find mercy in His laws
Have faith, repent and be baptized
Remit your sins by fire
The Holy Ghost your constant friend
Your heart and mind inspire
You've come thus far by the Word of Christ
And with unshaken faith
Relying on the merits of Him
Who is mighty to save
Press forward and hold fast to Christ
Hope with perfect brightness
Have love for God and all mankind
Endure in all uprightness
No other way to get back home
No other name in Heaven
Christ's Salvation, His happy plan
Is loves ultimate expression
2 Nephi 32
When asking, where to go from here
I've entered by the way
The Holy Ghost, by angel's tongue
In power will display
Angels speak the Words of Christ
All things ye should do
Feast upon the words of Christ
Seek understanding too
Ask and knock, the light will come
Or perish in the dark
The Spirit teaches man to pray
Don't look beyond the mark
He says pray always and not faint
With heart and lips, thy whole
He'll consecrate thy steps and work
To the welfare of thy soul
2 Nephi 33
Haiku
I loveth the Truth
I glory in my Jesus
Redeemer of souls
