Moroni

 Moroni 1

By God’s hand, I’m still alive

Hidden from the war

So I’ll add a few more things

And write a little more

Boldly I will testify

Of Christ and give my life

I’ll not deny, though death is nigh

I’m with him through the strife

Moroni 2

I give you power to lay on hands

Confer the Holy Ghost

Prepare yourself with a mighty prayer

Receive as willing host

Moroni 3

By his hands they were ordained

They prayed in faith to him

Ordained the teachers and the priests

A light to read the dim

Moroni 4

O God, the eternal father

We take the bread this day

And witness of our willingness

To follow and obey

We wait upon thy promise

Hope burns within our heart

A promise of the spirit

Always to impart

Moroni 5

Broken

Laid low

O God

Obedience

Deliverance

Moroni 6

And after they have been received by water

Wrought upon and cleansed by Holy Ghost

Their names are taken, nourished by the good word

Numbered with the church, esteemed utmost

Together ever watchful, ever prayerful

Relying on Christ’s merit, Him alone

The author of their faith, the true foundation

The finisher of faith and cornerstone

Moroni 7

The latter days are dark with unbelief

Are angels gone? Have miracles now ceased?

But Christ declares: if you’ll have faith in me

Power and great glory you will see

Revive your hope, though fainting and depressed

With lowly heart and meekness seek redress

Ye shall have hope in Christ, to raise you up

Unto life eternal with his cup

Transformed in him, with charity our fruit

Blossoming, with faith and hope the root

To suffer along, be kind, seek not her own

Rejoice in truth, where peace is always sewn

Charity:  pure love of Jesus Christ

Enduring ever, a pearl of precious price

Moroni 8

Little children, innocent and pure

Incapable of sin, their place assured

They’re whole and needing no physicians hand

Upon the grace of Christ, they safely stand

For little children are alive in Christ

His atonement covers, does suffice

Baptism is only for the man

Capable of sinning, who understands

Rejoice and rest assured, they are redeemed

For children lost to death in heaven gleam

Christ power and his love raised them today

Glorious light within his home, they play

Moroni 9

The last words of a father to his son:

Do not be weighed down, though sin has won

Let us labour diligently still

We have a work to do, the Fathers will

Our people are depraved and filled with hate

They revel in rebellion, evil great

But we will conquer Satan, though we roam

And rest our souls with God in heaven’s home

Moroni 10

From the dust a witness of the Son

Prophets words of Christ, the holy one

His grace enough, perfected in his name

Holy, without spot, by Spirits flame

O, house of Israel: Awake, arise!

The covenant of thy fathers will supply

Beautiful thy garments, put them on

Strengthen and enlarge the church upon

The Book of Mormon right before your eyes

Read these things and ponder, be ye wise

Then ask of God and plead that ye may know

The Holy Ghost will witness and will show

Another testament of Jesus, Lord

This precious book, His holy written word
