Mormon

 Mormon 1

Wickedness prevailed in the land

The three disciples taken by his hand

The miracles did cease, no Holy Ghost

The unbelief pervasive, all engrossed

They wilfully rebelled against their God

Persecuted saints, made goodness odd

But midst the wicked nation, one prepared

Mormon, just a child, yet ready there

He hearkened to the words of Amaron

Found, preserved the plates, recorded on

A record of the wars and wickedness

Sorrowing for sin, it’s muddy mess

How clean and pure this people used to be

Now filthy, unrepentant, blind to see

Mormon 2

We will not repent, though death is nigh

But sorrow that in sin, no joy supplied

Hewn down, against our God we still rebelled

Mourning as the damned, sin firmly held

Our riches, glorified, now slip away

Cursed by the Lord, they will not stay

Our loss, our pain, our suffering in the war

We will not turn to Jesus ever more

Our day of grace has passed, unyielding

From the will of God, flee knowingly

Cursing man and God in dying breath

Temporal and spiritual our death

To Jesus, we came not, for hardened heart

For pride and sin, we looked beyond the mark

Mormon 3

I utterly refuse to lead

Far, you’ve gone astray

You will not hear repentance cry

My preaching is in vain

You boast of your own strength in war

And swear on heaven’s throne

That you’ll avenged your brother’s blood

Refusing God, alone

The Lord came onto me and said:

Vengeance, it is mine

I will repay all wickedness

In my way and my time

No hope for you whom I have loved

From God, your wholly turned

The very Christ, you’re very God

Salvation’s love is spurned

Mormon 4

Mormons Lament

How, O God, could they have fallen?

A people, my people, who knew you

Walked with joy, rejoiced with you

Fallen now, down to hell

How could they now rejoice in blood?

Spilled in anger and revenge

Vengeance for their fallen friends

A lust for death, love for all things evil

They sacrifice innocence, that which is pure

Destroying all remnants of hope

All joy and charity trampled under foot

As they run uncontrolled toward their death

This is my life, to bear witness

To endure this awful scene

Yet in my heart, I know, I know thee

I know thy love and thy salvation

Be with me, O Lord, my Rock

Strengthen me in my affliction and my sorrow

I will rejoice in thee and thy salvation

I fall, on bended knee, and worship thee

Mormon 5

Once a delightsome people

Christ, their shepherd dear

Led by God the Father

His followers, sincere

But now they’re led by Satan

As chaff before the wind

As a vessel tossed at sea

No anchor, lost, in sin

Scattered by the Gentiles

Driven to and fro

Wandering now shepherdless

Not knowing where to go

Remember now the covenant

From God to Israel

Turn unto your fathers and

There safely you can dwell

Mormon 6

O ye fair ones, how could you depart from the Lord?

O ye fair ones, rejecting your Jesus, the word

For he stood with his arms open wide to receive

You would not, and he weeps, through eternity grieves

O ye fair ones, ye mothers and fathers and child

O ye fair ones, you’ve fallen, corrupted, defiled

You’re gone and my sorrowing can’t bring your return

And your bodies now moulder, ye just would not learn

Soon cometh the day that your spirit will rise

And unite with your body, ascend through the skies

You must stand before Christ and be judged of your works

Then ye fair ones, His justice and mercy observe

Mormon 7

To the remnant

Lehi’s seed

Preserved by promise

Know, ye are of Israel

And must repent

Lay down your weapons

Delight no more in blood

Learn of the fathers

Their belief and true intent

Will you believe?

In Jesus Christ

Repent in his name

Be baptized

Cleansed in water

Sanctified in spirit

Lay hold

Upon the gospel of Christ

Find God and

Happiness with no end

Mormon 8

You wander now, alone, for we are gone

We passed the veil of death, to heaven’s dawn

Our nations words, our life, on plates of ore

Preserved by you, protected, bound for more

To you, from failing hands, we give these plates

Read them and remember, Christ is great

He remembers you and knows your days

Prepares away for you, your witness raise

The tale of our sad death, sorrowful

Write it down so others come to know

The love and mercy of our saviour, King

And of the recompense his justice brings

Heed our words now, spoken from the grave

Repent ye, turn to Jesus and be saved

Mormon 9

To those that don’t believe in Jesus Christ

Will the day he comes in glory then suffice?

When you stand before his throne on that great day

Uncovered and exposed, your wicked ways

Will you deny his word and miracles?

Remaining filthy, stagnant, cynical?

He formed the Earth, then from the dust made man

Who fell, but find redemption by his hand

All who sleep, through resurrections power

Rise and stand before him at that hour

A miracle, the greatest, on display

His infinite atonement, hells dismay

For he’ll, redeem the cynical and lost

His blood and our belief in him the cost
